The organisation being brought about by the amalgamation of “Louth Area Voluntary Centre” and “Skegness and District Volunteer Bureau” under the Government “ChangeUp” initiative. This initiative required the development of the infrastructure to enable delivery and support of a suite of community voluntary sector services across the district of East Lindsey. A merger of the existing generalist organisations was considered to be the best way forward, after taking into account the knowledge of historical and current operational levels of the individual organisations.
Both organisations have been operating in East Lindsey for some 11 years, at varying levels of service and support in various locations, but not offering all services in all areas all of the time.

In the past the level of activity has always been governed by each organisation’s ability to attract funding.

In April 2006 VAEL was launched to ensure all services are available in all areas all of the time. This has been an exciting time for trustees and staff and is now on it’s way to fulfilling its aims and objectives.
