Mrs Peta Hill
I have worked in the voluntary sector for more years than I care
to remember, initially working with young children, then families.
My current role is as a community development worker with the Anglican
Churches in Louth. I am married and have four children, ranging
in age from 24 to fourteen. |
|
I was educated in Ipswich, Suffolk and spent my first
business years in Essex, Suffolk, and Norfolk working for my family
firm flogging fruit from the back of a lorry to shops, building
up rounds and passing them on to other employees. I worked in one
of the London fruit markets purchasing fruit for the branches, and
then moved onto the potato side of the business.I first came to
Spilsby opening a new branch some 37 years ago, and some 26 years
ago started my own company, based at an old railway station at Firsby.
I have a son who is 36 years old and in the business, so I managed
to retire 5 years ago at 60 years old.
I intended to spend my last years playing tennis and golf, and holidaying
with my wife Barbara. However I became involved, through Rotary
and a certain Sgt. Gary Brown, with the Spilsby Centre of Excellence.
